People in the region who are struggling should check if they can claim benefits following news £23 billion goes unclaimed.
In the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement, it was confirmed benefits rates would rise in line with the September 6.7% inflation figure.
These are payments from the Government to help with the cost of living for people who receive certain benefits and tax credits.
Bereaved partners with dependent children who were not married are now eligible for the same bereavement benefits as married couples.
People are being asked to check whether they can claim Universal Credit after it was reported £7.6bn is left unclaimed.
