  • Building a Bigger Impact 2024: Double Your Donation

We’re still here – this year, our small charity celebrated 50 years of being in South Gloucestershire – helping even more local people address many more problems than ANY other local charity.

Building a bigger impact in South Gloucestershire

Since June 2023, we have welcomed new advice sessions in Emersons Green, Lyde Green and reinstated Staple Hill as well as advocating for your local needs, including raising the media presence across BBC News on the topic of negative budgets. We have also launched new projects to help the most vulnerable people access the advice they need through the probation service, local GPs as well as our ongoing presence at the North Bristol and South Glos Foodbank.

    A big THANK YOU!

Last summer we asked you for £30,000 towards a move towards a new home. This was because we have outgrown our current premises which we have been renting for the last 25 years and secured a new home on Badminton Court in Yate. This will double the number of advice rooms and create a larger waiting room, accessible toilets and enough space for our volunteers and staff to do their work safely and confidentially. This of course, won’t affect our ongoing outreach sessions across the county.

We are delighted to say that with your individual donations and financial and in-kind donations from local companies and much appreciated sponsorship donations from our fundraising challenges we hit our target!

Thank you so much, we really couldn’t have done it without you. You have supported our journey up to this point which will go towards the initial purchase costs of the new premises to make it our home. We would of course like to say a huge thank you in addition to: CGI, Chartwell Funding, Nisbet Trust, Denman Charitable Trust, Burges Salmon Charitable Trust, St Anne’s school and St Helen’s church for all their contributions and support towards our premises move already.

    What’s Next?

After lengthy legal discussions, we are finally looking to complete on the purchase next month! We are all very excited to have enough space to meet many more people locally through our drop in work and specialist appointments at our Yate premises. We are off to a great start, but naturally there are still many more things to tick off our list such as rebuilding some accessible areas, creating new signage and survey costs. Thanks to companies such as Chartwell Funding, Rolls Royce and Gloucestershire Masons who have pledged their help for the next stage of our move.

    Double your Donation now!

We have waited a year to ask you once again for donations but we wanted to take advantage of ensuring your next donation goes even further. This time, we are collaborating with Aviva Community Fund who are doubling your donation for the next 40 days! That means if you’re able to donate towards our Aviva Community Fund crowdfunder page from now until the beginning of August, your donation will be doubled at no extra cost! For example, a gift of just £25 would become £50!

Help us by providing costs to move our IT and telephone systems
