Key statistics for September – a big increase on 2022
We saw a 22% increase in number of clients helped in September (760) compared to September 2022 (622) when taking into account all clients across the country helped by our team.
This is a much higher percentage increase than we saw last month. August was only 4% higher than August 2022 – rising to 12% when taking into account South Gloucestershire clients helped by all offices across the country.
Universal Credit was the most common issue in September at 675 – making up a third of the total issues (2,015). This was followed by benefits and tax credits (413) and debt (210).
September was our second busiest month on record for cost-of-living issues – second only to March of this year and ahead of March 2021.
In September, we also drew even with last year’s total number of energy clients – meaning this year is certain to be the highest year on record for energy needs.
