Become a Trustee
Interested in helping to run Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire as a Trustee?
Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is a small charity that provides information and advice to help people resolve their problems, including benefits, debt, employment, and housing. We provide free and independent advice to help people solve the problems they face, and improve the policies and practices that affect peoples’ lives.
Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is a member of the national Citizens Advice charity. This means we have access to the services, resources and support provided by national Citizens Advice. But as an independent charity, we’re responsible for running our own affairs within agreed standards.
We are looking for new people to join our Board of Trustees to ensure that the trustee board provides sustainable, strategic, management of the organisation.
You’ll need to:
- be available to attend at least four evening meetings each year of our Trustee Board. These are held on a Tuesday from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
- have a willingness to work as a team
- contribute to discussions that relate to the running of the organisation
- act in the interests of Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire and that of its staff and clients
- have good independent judgement, skills and knowledge to help develop our charity.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community to enable us to have a diverse trustee board that reflects our clients and communities. We are very interested in people with a background in social services, health services, and local government.
Experience of the role of trustee and understanding of the Citizens Advice service will be an advantage. We are looking for people with a wide variety of skills and a diversity of background and experiences.
The post of trustee is a voluntary one but we reimburse all reasonable expenses. The role provides you a great deal of experience and satisfaction, the opportunity to develop your skills and utilise your expertise and knowledge.
For more information or an informal discussion about this role please contact: Robert Cole: robert.cole@southgloscab.org.uk
