- Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire has shared pictures of its new office ahead of its moving date next Monday, 23rd June
- The pictures include the building’s reception, interview rooms and ground floor office as well as a group photo taken during the charity’s recent Volunteers’ Week celebration
- The charity’s Yate open-door sessions and appointments will no longer take place at the current building next to Yate Leisure Centre from 20th June onwards – instead moving to the new building at Station Road from 23rd June
New photos show views inside a vital west country charity’s new building ahead of its move date a week today (23rd June).
Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is moving from its home of more than 30 years at Kennedy Way, Yate, to a larger space in nearby Station Road, Yate.
Anyone wanting to come for help from Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire’s Yate office should come to Unit 1 Badminton Court, Station Road, Yate BS37 5HZ from 23rd June onwards – rather than its current location next to Yate Leisure Centre.
First look – new photos

Group photo in new Reception
New photos show the new space which will be ready for use by the community next Monday.
The photos show the new reception area – which is much larger with more room for seating than the waiting room at the charity’s old building.
They also show the new interview rooms which have been created since the charity took ownership of the building. There are six – up from four at Kennedy Way.
There is a photo of the downstairs office which will be used by the charity’s dedicated Generalist Advisers.
And there is a group photo of the current team in the new reception, taken during a recent Volunteers’ Week celebration event – as well as a photo in the new training room of CEO Chantal Watts thanking the team.
No Yate drop-in on Friday 20th June

New Reception area
The charity wants to reiterate there will be no Yate drop-in session this Friday (20th June) as the team will be moving equipment over between the two addresses.
But the charity’s face-to-face sessions at other locations in South Gloucestershire – Cadbury Heath, Stoke Gifford, Lyde Green, Thornbury, Bradley Stoke, Emersons Green and Staple Hill & Mangotsfield – will remain running as normal throughout this week and onwards.
Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire needs to move because demand for its services is increasing.
It helped more than 8,800 people in 2024-25, it’s busiest year on record – with more people than ever needing the charity’s free, independent and confidential support in areas such as benefits, debt, cost-of-living issues, housing, relationship breakdown and much more.
And its team is growing to meet the demand – meaning its current home in Kennedy Way is too small and there is a need for more space which the new building will provide.
Moving after 37 years

New interview rooms
The charity is 51 years old and has been based at its current premises for 37 years.
It has always rented its offices up to now – but has purchased the unit at Badminton Court, giving it greater control over its future.
Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is a local, independent charity reliant on grants and donations to continue its vital work.
Details of an opening event at the new Advice Centre will be announced in due course.
‘We’re looking forward to being able to welcome everyone’

New Generalist Adviser office
Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire CEO Chantal Watts said: “It’s fantastic to be able to share these pictures of our new building.
“We have done a lot of work getting it just right for the community of South Gloucestershire – and we’re looking forward to being able to welcome everyone from next Monday onwards.
“Anyone who has visited our previous office in Kennedy Way will be able to see the difference. We will have more space and there will be a much nicer environment for the people coming to us for help.
“We hope you will bear with us during the transition period – including this week when our services will briefly close on Friday to allow us to move.”
Anyone living in South Gloucestershire who needs help from Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is asked to come to the charity’s face-to-face drop-in sessions around the region in the first instance.
