  • Lyde Green to get its own invaluable local advice service from Citizens Advice

    • Lyde Green residents will benefit from their own face-to-face drop-in advice session from Monday 8th April
    • People living in the area can now receive help in the heart of their community. Previously they had to travel to one of the charity’s other drop-in sessions
    • The session is funded by Emersons Green Town Council. It will run on Mondays from 10am to 12 noon at Lyde Green Community Centre

People living in Lyde Green will now have their own face-to-face advice session from Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire. This is an invaluable service.

The charity offers free, independent and confidential advice to anyone who needs it. It will now be in the heart of the community in Lyde Green.

The new session will take place at Lyde Green Community Centre on Mondays from 10am to 12 noon.  It will start on Monday 8th April and Emersons Green Town Council funds the session.

Residents will be able to go to the community centre – without an appointment. They will be seen by an experienced Adviser who will help with their problem.

If the situation is complex and a follow-up is needed – such as for debt or energy – Advisers will book an appointment with the charity.

Previously, people in Lyde Green who were struggling with a problem would have had to travel to the charity’s other drop-ins in South Gloucestershire.

This includes the one already held at Emersons Green Village Hall on Thursdays from 10am to 12 noon. Emersons Green Town Council also funds this session.

Now, anyone looking for help with debt, benefits, housing, relationship breakdown, employment or virtually any other problem will have help on their door step.

Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire Chief Executive Officer Chantal Watts said: “We are delighted to be able to start a new advice session in Lyde Green.

“We are looking forward to meeting new clients. These clients may not have been able to get to our other sessions in South Gloucestershire.

“We will work together to overcome your issue – no matter how big or small.

“Our charity is committed to reaching out to the community in South Gloucestershire and spreading out our drop-in sessions to new parts of the county is a key part of achieving that.”

The charity is keen to spread to as many parts of South Gloucestershire as there is demand for.

It currently offers advice from its home in Yate as well as at drop-ins in Cadbury Heath, Stoke Gifford, Thornbury, Bradley Stoke and Emersons Green.

Anyone living in area of South Gloucestershire not served by a local drop-in session who would like one is asked to contact Chantal at: chantal.watts@southgloscab.org.uk
