May 2024 statistics – a 37% rise in client numbers on May 2023
May 2024 saw 37% more clients than May 2023 (836 compared to 610) – not as big a rise as April at 64.2% but larger than March which mirrored the same month in the previous year.
Universal Credit (1,054), benefits and tax credits (600), debt (258), housing (195) and utilities and communications (128) were once again the most common issues.
May saw a rise in terms of the top five cost-of-living-related issues (energy, energy debts, PIP, council tax arrears and charitable support and foodbanks) compared to May 2023 – with around 225 issued logged compared to around 125.
