South Gloucestershire CAB
- a leader in supporting volunteering.
Volunteers are the backbone of South Gloucestershire CAB. We put the highest priority on ensuring that our team of volunteers is fully trained and up-to-date. They are also expertly supported on a day to day basis. This ensures that people who use the CAB receive the best service possible. We are always exploring new and better ways of making volunteering worthwhile. Joining our team can mean more fulfillment, opportunity and learning for you.
RECRUITMENT
We are currently looking to fill two specfic volunteering roles, They are:
Role 1
Interested in what’s going on in your community? Do you like spreadsheets, number crunching, trend spotting?
We are really keen to put the huge amounts of data that we collect to much better use – informing policy makers of new developments, directing our energies to cope with emerging trends and demonstrating the value of the services we provide.
If you have an interest in using real-time information to find out about what’s going on in South Gloucestershire, and are a dab hand at Excel and data manipulation, please do get in touch with Christine Kenny on 01454 334960 or at christine.kenny@southgloscab.org.uk.
Role 2
Many people wrongly think that Citizens Advice is part of ‘the government’, not an independent charity. But like any charity, each CAB has to raise money locally in order to be able to help its community. Could you help us in our fundraising?
We’re looking for people to help with our income generation work, people with enthusiasm for the idea of citizens helping each other through the difficulties of life, a commitment to equality and diversity so that all residents have an opportunity to benefit from and contribute to our work, and the determination to pursue opportunities for funding our existing services and developing new ones.
In particular, we are looking for help in renewing and growing links with both the public sector and private sector businesses in South Gloucestershire, building the profile of the CAB service as a charity with a ‘can do’, problem-solving perspective.
If you think you may be able to help, please speak to Christine Kenny on 01454 334960 or email christine.kenny@southgloscab.org.uk.
