Training programme

Specific qualifications or experience are not required to train for most roles. For all of them, though, you will need to

• be good at listening
• have a good manner when talking to people
• have basic computing skills
• be open minded and non-judgmental
• enjoy helping people.

A formal  training programme is offered to those volunteers who wish to become Advice Need Assessors and Generalist Advisers. The training consists of a mixture of online training, self study packs, in bureau training sessions and observation of experienced volunteers. At the end of the training you will receive a certificate.

For all other roles, an induction will be given as well as plenty on-going support.
